How EFT tapping works

EFT Tapping is done by gently stimulating acupressure points along the hands, face and torso. While stimulating these points, you focus on a negative emotion tied to a specific event or memory while tuning into whatever felt sensation is associated with that emotion (for example, fear that feels like tightening in the chest). By stimulating these acupressure points, you are able process and then release the negative emotion, neutralizing the event or memory.

Limiting beliefs and reactive patterns are held in place by a series of past experiences. As I guide you through discovering and processing negative past experiences underpinning your limiting belief systems and patterns, you are able to release these beliefs and patterns that no longer serve you, paving the way for you to live with agency, intention, and increased well-being.

How EFT Helps Reduce Stress

EFT Tapping is a fantastic tool to reduce stress because it stimulates acupressure points that decrease the activity in the amygdala, the alarm system of the brain that releases stress hormones. The amygdala is responsible for the “fight, flight, or freeze” response that most people experience as a racing heart, shaky hands, shallow breath, or a nervous stomach. When we calm this response, a feeling of safety returns, and we regain our ability to access our prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for thinking and reason.

Tapping is so effective at working through emotionally charged experiences because it helps regulate your “alarm system” while you are processing a triggering memory or event, allowing you to work through charged events without overwhelming your nervous system. Additionally, Tapping can be used as a self-regulation tool to calm down your nervous system in any situation when you feel your body is starting to experience stress or overwhelm.
